Moose!

On the same drive as Old Portage and the eagles, we also saw two moose. In fact, one of these moose was likely the elusive moose that lead us to the eagles.

It was a real treat to see and photograph these moose. I even got video (I'll figure out how to link it later) - they spent a lot of time walking around and snacking, but they played and ran around. The most active moose I'd seen - mostly you just see them in urban areas eating trees. This time, they were in the 'wild' off a major highway.

Eagles!

On our drive to Seward, we stopped to take pictures of a moose, but when we got to where he was, he'd disappeared into the brush. We backtracked further, but to no avail. I happened to look up and see an eagle in a tree. This was my second live eagle outside of a sanctuary and WS' first. We snapped a bunch of photos and kept backtracking when I looked back and saw a second eagle. The second eagle had been there the entire time but had been hidden by the tree.
